Thesis: Hitler came to absolute power in Germany because of the propaganda he used to manipulate the people of Germany.

The Holocaust

We were loaded on to trains, not allowed to bring anything with us. We were being transported like cattle to the middle of nowhere. No one knew what was going on. The ones that did tried to flee and were shot on the spot. The train stopped, we were at our final stop. We were pulled off the train. Then they herded us to a single file line. At the end of the line there was a single man. He would look the prisoner over and point to the right or to the left. I got the point to the right. Was this good, was this bad, what will happen to me? We were then taken to a camp and we were told that it was Auschwitz. I later found out what happened to the people who went to the left, they were gassed and then burned. I survived but my family and friends would never be seen again.

Mein Kampf

Today he ranted on again about his hatred of the Jews and how he plans to exterminate them. He just goes and goes without breaks and defiantly without end. I am getting tired of typing constantly as he dictates to me what he wants written. We are both in this damn prison because of the Munich Beer all Putsch. They treat us like VIPS because Adolf is so convincing and because of him, we only have to be in this dreadful place for 9 months. We will soon be out and we will be able to finish what we started.

The Night of Broken Glass

Last night was the longest and worst night of my life. We were attacked last night because of our race. We did nothing wrong, we didn’t provoke them in any way. We didn’t send that Hershel person to kill Ernst Von Rath. Still the people came and destroyed our Synagues. They threw bricks through the windows, set fire to the buildings and just attacked us. There were 96 Jews killed, I am lucky I wasn’t one of them. We guess that over two thousand of our precious Synagues were burned. More than 7500 businesses were damaged. What did we do to provoke this? Then after all of this, they are now telling us that we must pay 1 billion marks for the damage. The very people who tell us we must pay for the damages are the same people who did the damage to our community. It has come to be called Kristallnacht, The Night of Broken Glass.

SA Vs. SS

We just got word that the SA is plotting a cue against our fuehrer. We must stop it at once. The SA has become very powerful because Ernst Rohm being its leader. He has been able to recruit countless volunteers to fight for him. Who knows how he does it, I think that his personality is just real convincing. We will take him and his disloyal men down tonight.We came to call it The Night of Long Knives. We were given orders to kill the leaders of the SA and we did what we were told. They should have never plotted against us. Those socialists thought that they could just take Germany. They couldn’t. I was given the honor to kill Rohm. We gave him a pistol with one shot and left him in his cell, but he was too cowardly to do it himself. So after fifteen minutes, I went in and shot him. We won and we are now in charge of Germany and no one can stop us.

The Man on the Balcony

There was a man today, standing atop a balcony near the market. Preaching to the people, men like these are all too common. Men that think they can make a difference in these harsh times. But, this man was different. He is just like the rest of us. He served in the army, he was wounded in battle, and he even earned the Iron Cross. He preached to us of how it was not our fault that we lost the war, it was the politicians fault. We were still fighting to the end but the people back home, the people who didn’t carry a rifle, they decided to surrender. And as this man on the balcony put it, they “stabbed us in the back.” They then signed the guilt clause saying that we started the war, while fully aware that Russia invaded us. This man was different than all of the others, he knows what he is talking about. This man, his name was… Adolf Hitler
